The Tasmania island

If we talk about Tasmania, one thing that was imagined in our mind is marsupial. Yes, marsupial is familiar with Tasmania. Two kinds of marsupial that live in Tasmania are Thylacine and Tasmanian Devil. Beside marsupial, Tasmania also become home for many wild life like any species of bird. With the cool temperate climate Tasmania also become home for 11 species of frog.


Tasmania is an Australian island and state and located about 240 kilometers south of the continent, from which it is separated by Bass Strait. Tasmania covers 62,409 square kilometers area and has population of 500,000. The native of Tasmania are Tasmanian Aborigines.

Tasmania is a beautiful island and promoted as the natural state and the "island of inspiration" owing to its large and relatively unspoiled natural environment. Almost 37% of Tasmania lies in reserves, national parks and World Heritage Sites. The island is 364 kilometers long from northernmost to southernmost points, and 306 kilometers from west to east.


The state capital and largest city is Hobart, which encompasses the local government areas of City of Hobart, City of Glenorchy, and City of Clarence, while the satellite town of Kingston (part of the Municipality of Kingborough) is generally included in the Greater Hobart area. Other major population centers include Launceston in the north and Devonport and Burnie in the northwest.
The subantarctic Macquarie Island is also under the administration of the state, as part of the Huon Valley Council local government area.

And now, with many culture and the view, Tasmania become one of favorite traveling destination in Australia. The popular and beautiful places in Tasmania are Dove Lake, Frenchmans Cap, Cataract Gorge, Bruny Island, Parliament House, Hobart, Freycinet Peninsula, Hellyer Gorge and other.
