Serengeti Park

Here is the national park that famous with the annual migration of over one million and a half white bearded (or brindled) wildebeest and 200,000 zebra. The Serengeti National Park is located in Serengeti area, Tanzania, Africa. This beautiful place covers s 14,763 km² (5,700 square miles) of grassland plains and savanna as well as riverine forest and woodlands.

The park is divided into three regions, such as Serengeti Plains which consist of the almost treeless grassland of the south is the most emblematic scenery of the park and many animal live there.

Western corridor or called “black Cotton”. This region is covered by the swampy savannah, many animals like Nile Crocodiles, colobus, monkey and also martial eagle live there. This place is passed by the animal migration from May to July.
Last region is Northern Serengeti, this area is a landscape which dominated by open woodlands and hills. This place is passed by the wildebeest and zebra migration about from July to august and in November. This beautiful place also cover by the bushy savannah is the best place to find elephant, giraffe and dik dik.

The Serengeti ecosystem is one of the oldest on earth. The essential features of climate, vegetation and fauna have barely changed in the past million years. Early man himself made an appearance in Olduvai Gorge about two million years ago. Some patterns of life, death, adaptation and migration are as old as the hills themselves.

It is the migration for which Serengeti is perhaps most famous. Over a million wildebeest and about 200,000 zebras flow south from the northern hills to the southern plains for the short rains every October and November, and then swirl west and north after the long rains in April, May and June. So strong is the ancient instinct to move that no drought, gorge or crocodile infested river can hold them back.

The name Serengeti is an approximation of the word used by the Maasai to describe the area. This traveling destination also listed by the UNESCO as one of the World Heritage Sites.

Yellowstone National Park

This is the first national park in the world. Yellowstone National Park is one of beautiful places in USA, was established on March 1, 1872 by U.S. Congress. This park is located primarily in the U.S. state of Wyoming, though it also extends into Montana and Idaho and was lived by the Native Americans for at least 11.000 years.

With 3,468 square miles (8,980 km2), Yellowstone National Park is famous with the wild live and also many geothermal features, especially Old Faithful Geyser. The park includes other features like comprising lakes, canyons, rivers and mountain ranges. One of the famous features in the park is Yellowstone Lake, one of the largest high-altitude lakes in North America and is centered over the Yellowstone Caldera, the largest super volcano on the continent. The caldera is considered an active volcano; it has erupted with tremendous force several times in the last two million years.

This park is also a habitat for many species, such as mammals, birds, fish and reptiles including several that are either endangered or threatened. There are Over 1,700 species of trees and other vascular plants are native to the park, include the unique species of plants.

As one of popular national park in USA, Yellowstone becomes one of tourist attraction in that country since the mid-1960s.the government provides many facilities, so that area is very well managed for tourism. Concessionaires manage nine hotels and lodges, with a total of 2,238 hotel rooms and cabins available. They also oversee gas stations, stores and most of the campgrounds. Another 800 employees work either permanently or seasonally for the National Park Service.

The Galapagos Islands

The Galapagos Islands became a part of Charles Darwin’s theory, evolution by natural selection. This beautiful place is located in the eastern Pacific Ocean, 973 km off the west coast of South America. The island contains any archipelago of volcanic islands, which consist of 15 main islands, 3 smaller islands, and 107 rocks and islets.

The Galápagos Islands and its surrounding waters are part of a province, a national park, and a biological marine reserve. The islands have a population of around 23,000 and become homeland for more than 40.000 peoples. Five of the islands are inhabited: Baltra, Floreana, Isabela, San Cristobal and Santa Cruz.
Beside that, The Galapagos islands are famed with their vast number of endemic species were studied by Charles Darwin during the the voyage of the Beagle. Then these islands become conservation area to protect the native flora and fauna. The Ecuadorian government also declared 97.5% of the archipelago's land area a national park, excepting areas already colonized.



In 1978 UNESCO recognized the islands as a World Heritage Site : wildlife is its most notable feature. But Introduced plants and animals, such as feral goats, cats, and cattle, brought accidentally or willingly to the islands by humans, represent the main threat to Galápagos. For this day, Galapagos Island also becomes a famous of tourism object. Many environmental threats such as, illegal fishing activities, introduced of new species that invaded large areas and eliminated endemic species in some of the humid zones, Non-native animal and some parasites inhabit the islands and also The fast growing poultry industry. The Galapagos Islands are on demand and in 2007; UNESCO put the Galápagos Islands on their World Heritage in Danger List.
