Sigiriya

Here is one of the most beautiful places in the world. Sigiriya mean Lion's rock. This site is an ancient rock fortress and palace ruin. Located in the central Matale District of Sri Lanka, surrounded by the remains of an extensive network of gardens, reservoirs, and other structures. Sigiriya is one of popular travel destination in Sri Lanka, also renowned for its ancient paintings which are reminiscent of the Ajanta Caves of India.

This beautiful place was built during the reign of King Kassapa I, about AD 477 – 495, and it is one of the seven World Heritage Sites of Sri Lanka.

Sigiriya may have been inhabited through prehistoric times. It was used as a rock-shelter mountain monastery from about the 5th century BC, with caves prepared and donated by devotees to the Buddhist Sangha. The garden and palace were built by King Kasyapa. Following King Kasyapa's death, it was again a monastery complex up to about the 14th century, after which it was abandoned. . The Sigiri inscriptions were deciphered by the archaeologist Senarath Paranavithana in his renowned two-volume work, published by Oxford, Sigiri Graffiti. He also wrote the popular book "Story of Sigiriya”

Sigiriya consists of an ancient castle built by King Kasyapa during the 5th century AD. The Sigiriya site has the remains of an upper palace sited on the flat top of the rock, a mid-level terrace that includes the Lion Gate and the mirror wall with its frescoes, the lower palace that clings to the slopes below the rock, and the moats, walls and gardens that extend for some hundreds of metres out from the base of the rock.

Yellowstone National Park

This is the first national park in the world. Yellowstone National Park is one of beautiful places in USA, was established on March 1, 1872 by U.S. Congress. This park is located primarily in the U.S. state of Wyoming, though it also extends into Montana and Idaho and was lived by the Native Americans for at least 11.000 years.

With 3,468 square miles (8,980 km2), Yellowstone National Park is famous with the wild live and also many geothermal features, especially Old Faithful Geyser. The park includes other features like comprising lakes, canyons, rivers and mountain ranges. One of the famous features in the park is Yellowstone Lake, one of the largest high-altitude lakes in North America and is centered over the Yellowstone Caldera, the largest super volcano on the continent. The caldera is considered an active volcano; it has erupted with tremendous force several times in the last two million years.

This park is also a habitat for many species, such as mammals, birds, fish and reptiles including several that are either endangered or threatened. There are Over 1,700 species of trees and other vascular plants are native to the park, include the unique species of plants.

As one of popular national park in USA, Yellowstone becomes one of tourist attraction in that country since the mid-1960s.the government provides many facilities, so that area is very well managed for tourism. Concessionaires manage nine hotels and lodges, with a total of 2,238 hotel rooms and cabins available. They also oversee gas stations, stores and most of the campgrounds. Another 800 employees work either permanently or seasonally for the National Park Service.

The Baikal Lake

With blue sea and the sky, the mountains, this beautiful place is very suitable for your honeymoon and traveling destination. The Baikal Lake is located in south of the Russian region of Siberia, near the border with Mongolia. This is the world's second most voluminous lake, after the Caspian Sea.

Baikal Lake consist of a habitat with more than 1,700 species of plants and animals, two thirds of which can be found nowhere else in the world. The Lake also called "The Pearl of Siberia", now famous as tourist object and drew investors from tourist industry as energy revenues sparked an economic boom.


For the increase of tourist, The Lake was also declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996

The Rice Terrace Fields of Banaue

Located in the Philippines, these terraces have almost aged 2000 years. Located in the mountains of Ifugao and built by ancestors of the indigenous people. This terracing is located about 1500 meters above sea level and covers nearly 10,360 square kilometers of the entire mountain.

The Banaue terraces are part of the Rice Terraces of the Philippine Cordilleras, a land created by human beings from 2.000 to 6.000 years old. They are found in the provinces of Kalinga, Apayao, Benguet, Mountain Province and Ifugao, and are a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

To this day many local residents are still plant terraces with vegetables and fruits, but many young people who began leaving Ifugos agriculture and make this region as the location of a luxury hotel and tourism object.

Mount Everest

This is the highest mountain in the world, located in border between the two countries, Nepal and Tibet. This mountain has several names, In Nepal called Sagarmathadan and in Tibetan called Chomolangma or Qomolangma. While the name Everest was given its name by the official Bahasa Royal Geographical Society upon recommendation of Andrew Waugh, the British Surveyor General of India at the time.

This Mount much visited by people, especially by the climbers. For the climber, Mt. Everest has two main climbing routes, the southeast ridge from Nepal and the northeast ridge from Tibet, as well as many other less frequently climbed routes.

Fjords and the Preikestolen Cliff

This cliff located in Norway, 600 meters above the sea level. Very amazing view with valley and mountains, but very danger so be sure to wear appropriate shoes and do not try to walk alone.

A tall cliff in the Lysefjord, sometimes known in English as "Pulpit Rock" or "Preacher's Pulpit". Some footpathes lead to it and you can look down 600 meters without a railing.It is the biggest natural tourist attraction in Norway.

The Inca City of Machu Picchu

Here's one of the most beautiful places in the world. Machu Picchu is a relic of the Incas that the remnants of the building. This site is one of the most recognized symbol of the tribe Inca and is often called the lost city of the Inca Empire



Located in the back of Urubamba in the Peruvian mountains, the site became one of UNESCO world heritage site in 1983. This heritage building built in the classical style of Inca era. The main building of Intihuatana, Temple of the Sun, and Space Three Windows.



On 7 July 2007, Machu Picchu was selected as one of the wonders of the world.
